Mario Suárez (born January 29, 1926 in Maracaibo, Zulia) is a Venezuelan singer. He has a large repertoire of music, but his mainstay is music Llanera. At the age of nine years, his father is hired to be the driver of Carlos Gardel. This introduction to Gardel was very important, because it influenced him to be a singer.
In 1936, Mario Suárez goes to Caracas, and begins to work as a child singer in amateur radio programs. In 1943 his professional life begins when Teo Capriles helps him enter in the Orfeón Juan Manuel Olivares show, making a debut in the National Theater. That same year he knows Billo Frómeta, that gives to him the opportunity to sing in his orchestra, in 1946 thanks to Julio Rodriguez Tellería, introduces him in Radio Caracas Radio, where is listened by the stars of the moment, the Mexican singer, Pedro Vargas, support him, projecting Mario Suárez to great scenes.
In 1953, he started to sing with the Torrealberos, where he composed songs like: Sabaneando, La Paraulta, Rosangelina, La Potranca Zaina, among others. Also he sang with the orchestra of: Luis Alfonzo Larrain, Aldemaro Romero, Chucho Sanoja, among others.
Like gremial leader, also his work has been outstanding, with Antonio Ríos, Carlos Lander and Sótero Rodriguez founds in 1950, the Unified Federation of Workers of Venezuela, and in 1958 is designated like chief of public spectacles of the Federal District and the Miranda state, in 1966 is elect by two periods consecutive like president of the Venezuelan Association of Artists of the scene.
Once established as a singer, he dedicates his support to artists, like his daughter Norah Suárez, or Lila Morillo. Mario Suárez has been an eminent singer, as much in Venezuela, and the countries that he visited: Cuba, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Colombia among others. Receiving the most important decorations than gives the Venezuelan government, serving like inspiration of new generations.
