"Mario Meets Koop-zilla" is the twenty-eighth episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.
[edit] Synopsis
Mario and friends travel to the oriental city of Sayonara to seek a weapon called Super Sushi, a delicacy that allows the consumer to double in size and strength. Unfortunately, as they soon discover, Bowser has beaten them to the sushi and become a giant lizard named Koopzilla (as Toad nicknames him). After the sushi's inventor, Dr. T. Garden, explains that Bowser broke into his lab and ate the Super Sushi (despite not needing an explanation since Princess Peach was already aware of what the sushi could do), the good guys attempt to subdue Koopzilla with a steel net, which he easily breaks out of. Afterwards, Dr. Garden whips up another batch of Super Sushi, which Mario consumes in order to become gigantic himself and combat Koopzilla. Eventually, Dr. Garden concocts an antidote, which Luigi inject into Koopzilla. Shrunken back down to regular Bowser ("Hey, the city's getting bigger... NO!! I'm shrinking!!"), the Koopa King escapes.
[edit] Trivia/Goofs
- At the very beginning of the episode, Luigi is wearing an oriental hat. But when "the earthshake" comes up and knocks the cart over, Luigi now has his regular cap on.
- When Mario is eating the food that makes him grow, he has a fork at first, but in the next scene, he now has a spoon!
