Mariner Write is a word-processor for Mac users, and has been around since about 1990, created by Mariner Software in response to the release of Microsoft Word 6.0 for Macintosh. Its primary developer is Bill Paar, who has also worked on Now Up-to-Date and Now Contact believed that the user interface of Word 6 got in the way of the productivity, so sought to create a word processor that did what the user needed, without all the stuff that a typical user doesn't need.
