Mariner Valley Expedition

Mariner Valley Expedition is a proposed Martian-themed Disney boat ride. Animator-imagineer Marc Davis designed a similar ride, the Western River Expedition, between 1968 and 1973 for Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom that was never built, but serves as a basis for Mariner Valley Expedition. If executed as planned, it would be built inside Martian Mesa Mountain where the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride once stood in the Magic Kingdom, annexing part of Fantasyland into Tomorrowland. Many of the scenes designed by Davis would be adapted to fit a the setting of a Martian colony rather than the Old West, though the ride is still in the early planning stages and may not be built at all.
