Mariner High School (Cape Coral, Florida)

Mariner High School is located in Cape Coral, Florida in the Lee County School District and is home to the Mariner Fighting Tritons. It serves grades nine through twelve. The school is located at 701 Chiquita Blvd. N. in Northern Cape Coral, Florida. The school's students come mainly from Cape Coral, the neighboring villages on Pine Island, and North Fort Myers. The school opened in 1986 and moved into its current facility for the 1987-1988 school year.

Mariner High is steeped with tradition. A winning attitude, a sense of pride, and the closeness of family are the qualities of a Triton. Students working with students, students working with teachers, and teachers working with parents, and parents working with the school will give Mariner High School the vital force it needs to be successful and continue with tradition.

A+ Plan Grade. For 2006, Mariner was awarded a grade of "C". The school has one of the lowest dropout rates in the State of Florida, has had 11 Congressional Grand Art Award Winners, is home to the 4-time state champion Silver Magic Marching Band, a highly ranked Color Guard, and the reigning Florida State and WGI National Champion Silver Magic Marching Band Drum Line. The Mariner Triton Thespian Theatre competes in regional competitions and completes a full season of plays, dinner shows, and talent shows for the enjoyment of the community.

The Mariner Law Team also is consistently ranked and all students are invited to take Law Studies courses which not only allow them to learn about laws, but about and meet law enforcement, local lawyers, and judges. Mariner Law Classes are taught in a courtroom classroom which was donated to the school by the moviemakers of Just Cause, starring Sean Connery, which was filmed in Southwest Florida.

Mariner Triton Athletics compete in several different sports. Football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, softball, and cross country, etc.

As the flagship of the community, it is our mission at Mariner High School to foster a learning environment that enables students to excel in both curricular and extracurricular activities, to encourage diversity in an atmosphere of cooperation and tolerance, and to provide students with skills that allow them to become successful, independent and productive adults.

Cape Coral High School - The Seahawks are Mariner's main cross-town/west region rival.

North Fort Myers High School - The Red Knights are the second school in Mariner's region.

Fort Myers Senior High School - The Green Wave are the county's oldest high school and the school Mariner most closely competes with academically.

Ida S. Baker High School - The Bulldogs are Cape Coral's newest high school and a developing west region rival.

Charlotte High School - The Tarpons are the closest Charlotte County High School to Mariner and the football and baseball games between the schools are always enjoyable.
