Marina Lima

Marina Correia Lima (born September 17, 1955) is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. She is a prominent female pioneer of Brazilian rock music.

From the age of five to twelve, she lived in the United States and learned to read in English before in Portuguese. She gained attention in 1977 when Gal Costa recorded her song "Meu Doce Amor." Other songs she wrote were inspired by her brother Antônio Cícero's poetry.

Her album, Simples Como Fogo (1979), would influence the coming Brazilian rock scene in the eighties. She gained major success with the 1984 album Fullgás, which had important singles in "Me Chama" (Lobão) and "Mesmo que Seja Eu."
