Mariendorf is a locality in the southern Tempelhof-Schöneberg borough of Berlin.

Mariendorf lies between Tempelhof to the north and Marienfelde to the south.

  • 1348 - Mariendorf is mentioned for the first time in a document
  • 1435 - Tempelhof, Marienfelde, and Mariendorf are sold to Berlin and Coelln
  • 1800 - Mariendorf has 162 inhabitants
  • 1872 - The Villenkolonie district is developed in the south end and is part of Mariendorf until 1920
  • ca. 1900 - Mariendorf has about 5,764 inhabitants
  • 1913 - The Trabrennbahn Mariendorf is opened
  • 1920 - Mariendorf is formally amalgamated into the greater city of Berlin
  • 1924 - The Volkspark Mariendorf is developed
  • 1945 - At the end of the Second World War Mariendorf becomes part of the American zone of occupation
  • 1946 - Mariendorf's Eisenacher Straße is the site of a displaced persons camp which houses roughly 3,250 persons until 1948.
  • 1966 - A U-Bahn station is constructed to serve the district on line U6
