Mariangelo Foggiato

Mariangelo Foggiato is a Venetist politician. After being elected member of the Veneto Regional Council for the Liga Veneta-Lega Nord in 1995, he founded with Fabrizio Comencini the new Liga Veneta Repubblica, of which he was national president from 1998 to 1999.
In 2004 he re-entered in active politics as member of the North-East Project, of which he was secretary until the foundation. He was elected again to the Regional Council in 2005, having led the new party to a big result in the Province of Treviso, where the PNE scored more than 15% of the votes.
Now, as regional councillor, he is actively ivolved in the project of transforming Veneto in a special statute region.
