Mariangela Melato

Mariangela Melato (born September 18, 1941) is an Italian actress.
Melato was born in Milan. After some convincing theatrical works, she made her debut for cinema in 1969 with Pupi Avati's Gli indemoniati. She is internationally known for Swept Away by an Unusual Destiny in the Blue Sea of August (1976), directed by Lina Wertmüller. She also has a significant role in another Wertmuller film The Seduction of Mimi. She gave her most wonderful theatrical performance in the leading role of The Miracle Worker.
