Marianapolis Preparatory School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marianapolis Preparatory School is a co-educational preparatory school located in Thompson, Connecticut, founded in 1926. Although Marianapolis was empowered by the State of Connecticut in 1936 to confer college degrees, during World War II the decision was made to become exclusively a preparatory school. Marianapolis Preparatory School was accredited by the New England Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges in 1955. The school became coeducational in 1974.

Marianapolis is situated on a sprawling 250-acre arboretum in northeastern Connecticut. Located 1 hour from Boston and 3 hours from New York City, it is known for its expansive ESL course offerings, diverse extracurricular activities, and challenging curriculum. The true hallmark of Marianapolis, however, lies in its rigorous college preparatory curriculum and the commitment and dedication of its faculty and staff.
