Maria Gripe

Maria Gripe, born 1923 in Vaxholm, Sweden, is a Swedish author of books for children and young people, often written in a magical and mystical tone.
Her books have won many awards, including in 1974 the Hans Christian Andersen Medal, and are translated into about 30 languages.
