Location of Mareo in Italy

Mareo (Ladin) or Enneberg (German) or Marebbe (Italian) is a comune (municipality) in South Tyrol in the Italian region Trentino-South Tyrol, located about 90 km northeast of Trento and about 50 km northeast of Bolzano. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,761 and an area of 161.6 km2.[1]

The municipality of Mareo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Corte (Curt), Mantena, Pieve di Marebbe, Plisa, San Vigilio (Al Plan), Rina, and Longega.

Mareo borders the following municipalities: Badia, Prags, Bruneck, Cortina d'Ampezzo, La Val, Lüsen, St. Lorenzen, San Martin de Tor, and Olang.
