Marea is a Spanish rock band from Berriozar (Navarre) formed in 1999 Kutxi Romero. They've been able to release four albums.

[edit] History

In 1997, after having been a member of 4 different punk bands, Kutxi Romero decided to form a rock group.

He called Alen Ayerdi -former drummer of Begira- who didn't hesitate to help on Kutxi's project. Kutxi contacted with Edu Beaoumont "Piñas", whom he had met one year before. Piñas hadn't played previously on any other bands, but Kutxi -who was a very good friend of him- persuaded him to join as bassist. Piñas accepted and he made Kutxi meet César Ramallo, who would become one of Marea's guitarists. David Díaz, aka Kolibrí, guitarist, entered the band as a reinforcement for the other members of the band.

The band was supposed to be called La Patera but that was impossible because a band with the same name already existed. They adopted the name their first album had to have: Marea. Their first album was named La Patera.

Their first album interested to BMG, and in 1999 it became Marea's first label. Their first album was released all across Spain.

On 2000, due to problems with BMG they left it and joined GOR. That year they released their second album: Revolcón.

A year later, on 2001, they began having conflicts with GOR and they ended their contract with it. They signed a new one with Dro Records. They began working on their 3rd album, Besos de Perro.

Besos de Perro was released on 2002. After having acted about 200 times in 3 years approximately, they decided to take a little break on their music career and they stopped touring to work on their following album.

On 2004, they released their fourth album, 28000 Puñaladas. They began touring until 2005.

Kutxi Romero announced on 2006 that Marea were working on their fifth album. The album will also include a DVD showing their last tour.
