Marcus Ellis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Marcus Ellis, born 1980, is a British man who was found guilty, along with three others, for his part in the New Year Murders.[1]
Ellis, a member of the Burger Bar Boys, was jailed for life for the slayings of Letisha Shakespeare and Charlene Ellis, who was the half-sister of Ellis, who were shot outside a hair salon in Aston on 2 January 2003.
Ellis, along with Rodrigo Simms, Michael Gregory, and Nathan Martin, was sentenced to life imprisonment at Leicester Crown Court in March 2005, with a recommended minimum term of 35 years - which means that he will not be considered for parole until at least 2039 and the age of 59.[1]
He was also convicted of the attempted murders of Sophie Ellis and Cheryl Shaw, for which he was sentenced to 24 years, to run concurrently with his life sentence.
