- Marconi Company, founded by Guglielmo Marconi; absorbed in 1956 into English Electric, which in turn was purchased by GEC in 1968 and used as the focus of its defence businesses.
- Marconi Electronic Systems or GEC-Marconi, defence arm of GEC, sold to British Aerospace in 1999 to form BAE Systems
- Marconi plc, name adopted by GEC in 1999, now a part of Ericsson.
- Alenia Marconi Systems, a former British-Italian defence electronics company, now split between the BAE Systems and Finmeccanica.
- Matra Marconi Space, a former Franco-British aerospace company, now part of Astrium.
