Marco Caceres ((born August 6, 1958 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras) is the co-founder of projecthonduras.com, an online network of individuals and organizations working on grassroots projects to empower the people of Honduras in the areas of education, healthcare and community building. projecthonduras.com is an unconventional movement to change Honduras for the better using the power of the Internet to efficiently coordinate the efforts of thousands of individuals and groups providing humanitarian/volunteer support. The movement offers an alternative model of development for poor countries based on identifying, mobilizing and channeling all the "human capital" available to a country, including time, energy, experience, expertise, talents, and contacts.

In 2004, Marco was one of eight finalists considered for the Development Gateway Foundation's first Petersberg Prize. Finalists were chosen from more than 200 nominess. For his work through projecthonduras.com, he was recognized for excellence in the use of information and communications technologies (ICT) for development. [1]
