[edit] Career

Born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Marcel was a professional hockey player until signing with Mercury Nashville in 2002. For four years prior to this, while waiting for an opportunity, he sang at clubs, bars, and waited tables for extra money.

In 2003 he released the debut album "You, Me and the Windshield" which reached #48 on the U.S. Country Tracks Chart. The tracks "Country Rock Stars" and "Tennessee" from this album were released as singles. After this he returned to writing songs for other artists.

Marcel has written songs for Country stars such as Josh Gracin ("Nothin' to Lose", "Favorite State of Mind"), Rascal Flatts ("Backwards"), and LeAnn Rimes ("The Weight of Love"). He has since signed with Lyric Street Records and is currently on tour along with his girlfriend, Jessica Andrews.
