Marc Prensky is known around the world as an education and learning-focused writer, speaker, consultant, visionary, and learning game designer. His expertise is in reinventing an engaging learning process for our young people.
Prensky has spent much time investigating and writing about the learning that takes place in computer and video games, and on how the engaging learning elements from those games can be applied to education in general.
Prensky’s writings include the critically acclaimed Digital Game-Based Learning (McGraw-Hill, 2001), and the widely read Don’t Bother Me, Mom – I’m Learning! How Computer and Video Games are Preparing Your Kids for 21st Century Success – and How You Can Help! (Paragon House, 2006), which is currently being translated into Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Italian. They also include more than 50 articles on his website www.marcprensky.com/writing , many of which have been published in such magazines as Educational Leadership, Edutopia, Educause, strategy+business, Educational Technology, On The Horizon.

Games2train, the company Prensky founded in 1999, has IBM, Bank of America, Pfizer, Microsoft, the US Department of Defense (DARPA) and The Florida and LA Virtual schools among its client base. Through Games2train, Prensky has designed and built more than 50 software learning games in his career, to teach subjects ranging from middle school math and science, to corporate policies, to financial derivatives for bankers, to CAD for engineers, to financial literacy for teenagers, to counter-insurgency for soldiers in Iraq.
Prensky’s academic background includes an undergraduate degree from Oberlin College in French with a minor in chemistry and math, a masters from Middlebury in French theater, a Masters in Teaching from Yale, and an MBA from Harvard.
