Marat Izmailov

Marat Izmailov (Марат Измайлов), (born September 21, 1982), is a football player currently playing in the Russian League for FC Lokomotiv Moskva (Локомотив). He is a midfielder and wears the number 7 shirt. Having made his international debut aged just 18, he has gone on to make 26 appearances for the Russian national team and was a member of the Russian squad at the 2002 World Cup Finals. One of the most talanted Russian players of his generation, he is pacy and has the ability to beat defenders, but can also shoot from distance. He usually plays in the hole behind the strikers or sometimes as a winger. He is one of top dribblers in Europe although in recent times he hasn't appeared that much for club and country. He was promoted from the Lokomotiv Moscow B-team to the starting lineup of the National team in the space of 6 months.
