Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology commonly Known as MBCET located in Nalanchira, Trivandrum, the capital of the state of Kerala. This college is located on a hillock in the serenic Bethany Hills which is about 200 acres of land.

The following courses in MBCET are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and sanctioned by the Government of Kerala, leading to the B.Tech. Degree of the University of Kerala

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology is administered by the Major Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram through the Malankara Catholic Educational Society, a society found by the diocese exclusively for the formation of educational technical and other institutions to benefit the community and the public in general. The society was registered in the year 1996, under the Travancore – Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955. The major Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram under which the society functions, has been in the field of education for long and has established several primary, secondary & higher secondary schools, nursing college, technical college, NAAC ‘A’ grade training college and a few first grade colleges in its credit. Many of them are most sought after in their creed. One of them, The Mar Ivanios College claims prestigious CPE (College with Potential for Excellence among very few colleges in India) status by the UGC.

Candidates for admission to the B.Tech degree courses are required to possess the following qualifications

[edit] Eligibility

The candidate shall have passed the higher secondary examination of Kerala with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects or any other examination accepted as equivalent there to by the University of Kerala,India. Regular candidate shall have secured a minimum 50% marks in Mathematics and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together. The candidates shall also satisfy the conditions regarding physical fitness as may be prescribed by the University.

The backbone of MBCET is the library, which provides all possible facilities to its members. A good collection of 8000 engineering books for six engineering branches, assist its members to complete the academic program in an excellent and efficient manner. Books are classified and arranged well as per Dewey decimal classification; so the members can locate the books within seconds. Computerized cataloguing is under processing. A separate periodical section is there with 48 national and international periodicals. Bound back volumes of journals, question papers etc are there for reference
