The Mardalsfossen waterfall in Romsdal, Norway.

The photograph shows the Mardalsfossen waterfall in the valley Eikesdalen in the county Møre og Romsdal. The waterfall is by the south end of the lake Eikesdalsvatnet, which also can be seen in the photograph. The waterfall's total drop is 655 metres. The largest free fall is 297 meters, which is among the tallest in Norway.

The photograph was taken from the road along the lake Eikesdalsvatnet by Peter John Acklam in July 2004 with a Pentax SFX-N SLR camera with an SMC Pentax A 70–210/4 zoom lens.
