nexon-MTV networks partnership

I just think that it should be mentioned about the new partnership. Not too much about about prospective future, since maplestory is nexon's major project in america. (though we will see upcoming games like Audition Online) I didn't check but hopefully all the links are updated.

Would be cool if GlobalMS got an exclusive area with a MTV theme, the way KoreaMS has a Coca-Cola theme area. - Takiten 05:20, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Sharenian.

Sharenian is specifically, just the Guild Quest. The new path in Perion's mountain range (The excavation site, and the skeleton+castle maps) is not called "Sharenian". It's just a new section of perion, even uses the perion icon in the mini map. So shouldn't that be taken off the "town availability" chart? I realize the sharenian guild quest and the new perion maps are patched together, but I personally think the "sharenian" part of the chart should be removed, since it's not a town (return to town scrolls don't drop you off at the excavation site if you are training in that area). Further proof at sauna.gibbed.us, shows the excavation site is part of victoria road, and not sharenian. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there. - Takiten 01:52, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

If this is the case, shouldn't Helios Tower and Aqua Road Dungeon be taken off as well, seeing that they are not a town, they are just additional maps. - Lancerex6 12:08, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Well my argument for that is, Helios Tower and Aqua Dungeon were seperate patches. Sure they are not towns, but they are new area addons that should be listed. So I suppose in this case, maybe a "Perion Excavation Site" row should be replaced in "Sharenian"'s spot. - Takiten 04:12, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

TaiwanMS, does it have the Guild Quest?

I was looking through the TaiwanMS information sites listed on the main artical. I didn't see any monsters or maps of anything from Sharenian Guild Quest. The only thing TaiwanMS has is the few maps leading up to Perion Excavation Site. They don't have any of the skeleton monsters in their monster list or maps past the excavation site, or the obelisk npc for the guild quest. Obiously if this is the case, then they must patch the perion excavation site seperate from the perion castle ruins and the guild quest, much the same way that helios tower was patched seperate from korean folk town. So I was thinking, we need to split the excavation site into to halfs on the town availability chart. Plus I was thinking since grave of mushmom, iron boar land, and the forest of golem are also areas in their own way (same as helios tower), that they should be included on the chart to show which versions have them or not. If anyone can confirm if TaiwanMS has the guild quest or not, that would be a start. - Takiten 00:02, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok I should have checked the main site before checking a fan information site. My bad. Anyway, any thoughts on adding "The Grave of Mushmom", "Iron Boar Land", "The forest of Golem" to the town availability chart? Should they just be 1 row, or 3 seperate rows, or just not mention them at all? As far as I know, they all get patched into a version in 1 single patch when they are released. There's also the ant tunnel additions with the ice and winged drakes. I suppose it would be too much to add all this to the chart. -- Takiten 03:20, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Anime?

Article lacks info on this and the "Maple Girl" series.

http://www.animenewsservice.com/archives/novx.htm

Also, the info is on Madhouse's website, but in Japanese and I can't find it myself. 70.119.79.88 21:42, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

In-game music question for KMS players.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this or not. I was just curious to what in-game music does Xi Men Ding (town and outside areas) and Thai Floating Market (town and outside areas) has. I'm kind of a maple story music fan and these are the only music tracks I have not heard yet. If anyone that plays KMS or any other version with these areas, could either tell me if these towns/areas have unique music or not, and or maybe even fraps some of the music and upload the video to youtube, It would be great. I haven't found any maplestory fan sites that have music of these two areas. -- Takiten 03:38, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

I might be able to help you with this. Send me an email and we can discuss this through there. -- Prod-You 06:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Hmm, I found out that JapanMS data.wz has music for Shanghai City, and Night City, but no Xi Men Ding Music, which doesn't make sence since the only way to night city is through xi men ding. So this tells me that there must not be any new music for xi men ding. Can any KoreaMS or TaiwanMS players confirm this? Maybe xi men ding just uses kerning city's music? -- Takiten 01:27, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

What is Maple Island Adventurer Course?

In Town Availability, I saw an area called Maple Island Advanturer Course and What is it? And can the players which left Maple Island come back to Maple Island to go to that area?

By the way KoreaMS(KMS) does not have access to that area. - wkkim9292

It's a new beginners area in JMS. Theres this studio looking stage map that has back drops and props for each town of Victoria, and tv's showing each class fighting some monsters. I guess it's a way to show beginners what each class looks like and what victoria's towns look like. Then there's another map with some stage props of orbis, el nath, aqua road, and ludibrium. On this map you can fight some monsters for 1 exp each that don't attack you. Basically they switched out all mushroom town maps (the old tutorial) and replaced it with this adventure course tutorial. All the old beginner quests from the old tutorial are still there though. There's also some new in game music for this area. And as far as I know, you cannot go back to this area once you leave, so you can only check this out with a brand new character. After leaving this area, you end up on the first map with green snails on maple island. -- Takiten 03:04, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
This info would be useful on the MapleStory world page. Can you add a short description there? -- Prod-You 03:26, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Added, Might be too long though, edit away. I'll see if I can get a screenshot added too. -- Takiten 03:55, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Riprey rename to Leafre? And Xi Men Ding rename to Taipei City?

Someone added to the world artical that Leafre will be the English name in GlobalMS. Anyone have a source if this is true or not? The only logical reason I can see it being called Leafre, is because that's the filename for the map icon, AND it's the filename for the town music track. Should we just change it to Leafre on all articals? Second, I came across a Japanese website with music tracks, and the music track for Xi Men Ding is called "YoTaipei.mp3". Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan. So I suppose it would make sence that "Xi Men Ding" will probably be called "Taipei City" in an English version of MapleStory. If ChinaMS made a exclusive map for Shanghai called Shanghai City, then Taiwan could probably do the same with Taipei. -- Takiten 03:20, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Actually, Ximending is a district of Taipei after reading about it. And the map icon for Ximending even says "Ximending" in Chinese. Not sure what to say now. Guess just leave it as is until an English version of MapleStory get's it. -- Takiten 03:31, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Ok, Found another thing. I suggest we just keep it as Riprey anyway, unless someone has a definite source that it will be Leafre in an English version. Korean Folk Town was changed from "Down Town" in the Japanese version, and the music track for Korean Folk Town in all versions data is called "DownTown.mp3", so it's not really reliable to say that the music track filename will be the English name of the town. -- Takiten 04:09, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

party quest?!

I'm pretty sure the kerning city and ludibrium party quests aren't exclusive to only koreaMS and JMS. Please fix this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.107.17.71 (talk) 00:12, 10 December 2006 (UTC).

There's no mention of a exclusive kerning city pq anywhere, and the Ludibrium Maze PQ is exclusive to JapanMS for now. Just because we have it listed as exclusive doesn't mean it will stay exclusive forever. It means that it's exclusive for now. Same with the Henesy PQ. -- Takiten 05:15, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Kerning and Ludibrium party quests are available in GMS and MSEA. Orbis Party Quest is not. It will eventually come though. Brady1234 20:38, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

"Minigame"

Should it be capitalized or not? The Captain Returns 02:55, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

As the writer of "A guide for Mini-games", I would say that it doesn't matter. Generally, you don't need to capitalize it. In my guide, I am simply using conventions set by other game companies (e.g. Runescape) since they got more knowledgable staff than me. But if you are referring to a specific mini-game (e.g. Omok), you have to capitalize it. OhanaUnited 19:56, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Giant Smiley Face on MapleStory Wiki

When I first loaded the Wiki for this game, there appears to be a giant "smiley" face in place of the MapleStory logo, cutting off some text, and in most instances, stretching the page horizontally. Whenever I loaded the page again, however, it reverted back to the way it was... 205.237.151.108 06:13, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Gachapon a mini-game?

I don't think Gachapon qualifiy as a mini-game. Mini-game are 1 or 2 player in-game features that entertain players. I highly doubt that Gachapon is a mini-game. It's more like a feature that gives advantage to cash shop users. OhanaUnited 06:00, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

MapleStory Versions content template

It seems to me as if this template takes up a bit too much of its fair share of space on the article. Would it perhaps be better to provide a link to the template instead of including it? Kalani [talk] 08:16, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

I think it would be better to shrink it... maybe use font size 1 for the entire grid, and shrink the checkmarks and X's to 10-15px instead of 20px. I'll try working on something. -- Takiten 23:59, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Still, it would probably still be very bulky even if it were shrunk. Another recommendation might be to remove the entire EuropeMS column; it has none of the listed features. A note could possibly be placed saying "Note: EuropeMS has none of these features at this time." or something. Removing eMS would shrink the table a small bit. (I still vote for a link to the template, however.) Kalani [talk] 06:34, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
I think it should be added to the template which versions have the 1.25% EXP bonus callicojack 11:47, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Omega Sector

How about something like this? This is just a sample, this would make it a lot less wide. -- Takiten 02:06, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't worried so much about the width than the height. =P Kalani [talk] 17:40, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Has ThailandMS got Pianus Boss Area?

Has ThailandMS got Pianus Boss Area and Pianus Boss? - wkkim9292

ThailandMS didn't get it now. We've got Papulatus only. - PiPU 08:28, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Has JapanMS didn't get Yu Yuan Garden in Patch 1.19?

I heard that JapanMS got Shanghai City, Xi Men Ding and Night Market in Patch 1.19. Does anyone know if JapanMS got Yu Yuan Garden in Patch 1.19? - wkkim9292

I will check when the patch is up. -- Takiten 00:32, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
JapanMS did not get Yu Yuan Garden. -- Takiten 16:40, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

World Tour NPC locations?

Trying to find where all the World Tour NPC's are located. So far I know she is in Henesys, Kerning City, Perion, Ellinia, Lith Harbor, Orbis, El Nath, Ludibrium, Riprey, Mushroom Shrine, Shanghai City, Xi Men Ding and Thai Floating Market. Anyone know if she is in Omega Sector and Korean Folk Town? I know she is not in Sleepywood or Aquarium in JapanMS. -- Takiten 17:00, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

She is not in Sleepywood and I dont think that she is in Korean Folk Town either. - wkkim9292 20:29, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Ok I checked every town, the World Tour NPC is only (In JapanMS anyway) Lith Harbor, Henesys, Kerning City, Perion, Ellinia, Orbis, El Nath, Ludibrium, Riprey, Mushroom Shrine, Shanghai City, Xi Men Ding, and (Thai Floating Market, which JMS does not have yet). She is not in Sleepywood, Aquarium, Korean Folk Town, or Omega Sector. -- Takiten 22:21, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Maple game room glitch

There's this common, but hard to reproduce glitch in MapleStory that causes players to turn a game room into moving signs. It's like this, if you press a certain combination of keys and mouse clicks, the game glitches and throws both players out, but the game room sign remains and the Mapler is free to do what they want while this "sign" is still up except talk, unless they have a pet that is able to talk (Suggested picture [1]). Upon further review, one can correct the glitch by opening another game room, changing the channels, going into Cash Shop, or by going through a door. The latter three may or may not restore speech to the particular person.

DELETION???

Why is this article being DELETED?? This makes no sence at all. Please remove the deletion tag.Davud363000 23:31, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

I vote no on deletion. SteveSims 03:27, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I vote no on deletion either. - wkkim9292
The tag may not be removed until the discussion has ended, as the nominator had justifiable reasons for nominating this article. (I would vote Keep as well.) Kalani [talk] 16:53, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I vote NO in deletion.

I think that this is all figured out but I vote NO on deletion anyways. I might be around for a while Redskunk 23:59, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Does ThailandMS have Chungoo boss or not?

Does ThailandMS have Chungoo boss area? Because the area has been shown up in Zipangu map of ThailandMS website, and in official ThailandMS website, there is chungoo in Zipangu microsite's monster page. Because, a while ago, someone has been marking that ThailandMS doesn't have chungoo boss area, but that's MapleSEA and I thought that ThailandMS has Chungoo boss area. Does anyone know if ThailandMS has Chungoo boss area or not? - wkkim9292 21:02, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I figured if the main ThailandMS website shows the monster in it's Zipangu index, then yes it does have it. -- Takiten 00:37, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
ThailandMS doesn't have the hidden portal to get in the boss map (like MapleSEA). - PiPU 08:10, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

What happened to the MapleStory StrategyWiki website?

I tried going to www.strategywiki.org/MapleStory and it isn't there! What happened?

If it doesn't exist anymore, remove the link to StrategyWiki from here.

The site is down for maintenance, upgrades and stuff. -- Prod-You 02:02, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

MapleNoobs

I couldn't find a spot in here for requesting an add of a website. Can someone add "http://www.maplenoobs.com" to the list of links? It's a site dedicated to reporting hackers on GMS. --TinDragon 23:53, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Or you could just play on a server that doesn't suck, instead. Global is far too corrupt to bother with. It's only redeeming factor is that the game downloads obscenely fast. From there, it's all downhill. Reporting a hacker in Global is roughtly as effective as trying to put out a forest fire with a squirt-gun. HalfShadow 00:31, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree! Redskunk 03:09, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Please try to stay on the topic. This is for discussion of the contents of the game, not it's quality. As much as the site is impressive, until it's widely used/known it cannot be added. -- Prod-You 03:26, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
