MapleStory DS (Korean:메이플 스토리 DS, working title) is the Nintendo DS version of the game MapleStory that is currently under development, with the Korean release date set for late 2007. MapleStory DS will be the third Nintendo DS game developed by a Korean company. The game was announced at 2006, and is the first MMORPG announced for the DS. [1] [2] It is an adaptation of the PC version of the game and will include much of the same gameplay as the original with several new features as well.[3]

We [are] interested in [the] characteristics and strategy [contents] of [the] Nintendo DS and decided to develop games for it, and we agreed on a large part of the plan with Nintendo.

On January 9, 2007, in light of the official release of the Nintendo DS Lite in Korea, Nexon and the newly established Nintendo of Korea showcased Maple Story DS for the first time.[citation needed] Featuring many of the established features of the PC version, this exclusive version of the popular MMORPG will also sport all new features and content.[citation needed] The Korean version of the game will first be released in September 2007, complete with a special Nintendo DS Lite/MapleStory bundle release, with other territories including the US, Australia, Europe and Japan also planned.[citation needed]
