MAPLE chip
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MAPLE,also Maple of maple, is a mobile phone chip. It is the first ever mobile phone chip to be fabricated using 65 nano-metre technology.[citation needed] It has been developed by Infineon, a German based chip developing firm, with co-operation from Indian hard ware engineers.[citation needed]
It is also considered to be the most densely populated processor for a mobile phone. IBM and Samsung are also said to be involved in this project.[citation needed] It is yet to hit the market (as of May 17 2006)
[edit] Miscellanea
- One nanometre is one-ninetieth of a metre, and 65 nano metres is about 35 sq mm the size of a finger nail.[citation needed]
- It is the most densely populated processor for a mobile phone.[citation needed]
- It contains 30 million transistors.[citation needed]
- The MAPLE will be able to have more features, than present phones with the same power.[citation needed]
