Image talk:Map of downtown Rome during the Roman Empire large-annotated.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Downtown" Rome! How very colloquially American. Does "Downtown" Rome mean the city centre? If so, then "central" Rome would be a more unversally understood. "Downtown" is not a term used in the UK or Ireland - I don't know whether it would be understood in Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Malta and other places outside North America that have English as an official language.
