I have found an interesting example of the lack of rigor on internet references. In a couple of places I have seen Manuel Contreras in the list of people that passed through the School of the Americas. However, many others put him at Fort Benning. From 1984 onwards both could have been true, but by then Contreras was retired. If he was in the School it was in Panama, were the it was located until 1984. Probably some lazy journalist saw the reference to the SOS, made a very quick search and found that is located in Fort Benning. Somebody even put Fort Benning in Virginia instead of Georgia, mistake that has been propagated some...--AstroNomer 23:57, Jan 8, 2005 (UTC)
