Manuel Kaktakouzenos has started revolt against Palaiologos family in Morea
Manuel was the grandson of Demetrius I Kantakouzenos, the last Kantakouzenos governor of Morea. When it became clear that Constantinople and the Emperor, Constantine XI, were finished, Manuel started to organize revolt against Morea's rulers, Thomas and Demetrius II. It had been well-known that the two hated one another. Using this situation to his advantage, Manuel started his revolt in 1453. In the beginning, he possessed a good chance for success, but then the situation quickly changed. Turkish Morea's overlord had made the decision that this province would stay in the hands of Thomas and Demetrius II. Because of this, any power fighting against Morea now would face the wrath of the Turkish Empire. With minimal Turkish support, the brothers ceased their hostilities and joined together to fight Manuel.
This was simply too much for the revolt, and it was put down the next year, 1454.
