Published in 1987, Mantis is a Horror novel by K. W. Jeter. It is a disturbing look at a psychotic murderer and his obsession with women who like dangerous men. While cruising seedy bars, he meets the enigmatic woman Rae who gradually pushes him to the limits of his dark fantasies.
