Manteca Waterslides
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Manteca Waterslides was a waterpark that existed in the Central Valley town of Manteca, California from 1974 to 2004. Founded by R.H. "Budge" Brown, the park enjoyed status as one of the better waterparks in the United States and had easy access to Interstate 5.
In the summer of 2004, it was announced that the park would be closed. The owners of the park cited high workers' compensation and health care costs as reasons for the park's closure in September 2004.
As of February 2006, no trace remains of the waterpark and the land is being proposed for development which would provide housing for, among other people, commuters to the San Francisco Bay Area.
