Manouchehr Atashi (Persian: منوچهر آتشی‎ ) born in 1931 in Dashtestan, Bushehr province was a Persian poet, writer, and journalist. His poetry is the poetry of the revolting warrior of the humiliated southern tribesman. He takes his work seriously and although attached to his native birthplace his poems are universal scope. In his later works Atashi has relaxed his rhythm and has moved toward direct expression of emotion.

Atashi was born in a southern town in an educated tribal family and grow up in Tehran where he earned his university degree and a living by teaching and writing. Atashi received his BS degree in English literature in Tehran. Atashi was still young when his poems begin to appear in major Iranian journals. Atashi survives in two daughters and has left behind numerous important publications.
