Mannuthy

Mannuthy is a very important suburb area of Thrissur City of Kerala, south India. Its only 5 km from Swaraj Round. Mannuthy is one of major stopover destination in Kerala. Its strategic location (en route to Palakkad and on the junction of Thrissur Bypass) on National Highway NH47,(Which is about to be fourlined) one of the busiest Route in Kerala, making it highly popular among travellers. Mannuthy boasts of large number of quality restaurants and motels. Truly a "traveller's delight" particularly at night when majority of motels work all night round. Among the few famous ones, Indian Coffee House has opened one indoor and one outdoor restaurant in Mannuthy considering its growing popularity.

Mannuthy is also a center for many of the government and private educational institutions. Among the famous few are the College of Veterinary and Animal sciences, College of Dairy Science and Technology, Agricultural Research Station , Don Bosco higher Secondary school ,CMS School, Don Bosco ICSC School , Don Bosco Minor Seminari and 'V.V.S High school'. The St. Antony Church on the highway is another attraction in Mannuthy.

Wildlife Sanctuary near Peechi and Vazhani dams is only 10 km away from Mannuthy. Mannuthy's development started with the inception of Veterinary College named College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, way back in 1955 and again, Mannuthy was in news in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee celebration of Veterinary College (in year 2005).

The climate and soil of Mannuthy is said to be very fertile and possibly is the reason for a large number of 'Nurseries' (gardens where plants are for sale) present. The fact that the Agricultural University at Vellanikara (only 3 km away) is added advantage to Mannuthy's growing economy and prosperity.
