[edit] Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Mr. Van Dreissen explains that certain parents have complained about kids not showing good manners, and they want the school to teach them. Van Dreissen then introduces a smartly dressed man named Mr. Manners. As he speaks, Beavis and Butt-head are oblivious and interrupt by making rude sounds, which he uses as an example of bad etiquette; however, he then picks the two as volunteers for a presentation. They are put in a restaurant setting with Beavis as a waiter and Butt-head as a customer. When the two do not take it seriously, Mr. Manners becomes infuriated, and after Beavis accuses the speaker of sexually molesting him, Mr. Manners attempts to strangle Beavis. Mr. Van Dreissen, having taken a break, returns shouting at Mr. Manners. They get into a slapping fight, much to the delight of Beavis and Butt-head (and the rest of the class).

Spoilers end here.

[edit] Notes

  • The "Mr. Manners" character resurfaced in a future episode entitled "Candy Sale", in which he has found a new job working for a fundraising company (and hence changed his nickname to "Mr. Candy"), after apparently being fired over the incident with Van Driessen.
  • In both episodes featuring him, Mr. Manners is voiced by actor David Spade.
