Manmoo (マンムー Manmū?, Manmoo in original Japanese language versions) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Manmoo in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.

Biological characteristics

Manmoo resembles a fully grown mammoth with a pig-like nose. The tusks are much larger than those of Piloswine and seem to be shifted downward. Tusks of the male are larger than those of the female.

The tusks are made from solid ice instead of dentin like most teeth are. It was much more common around the ice age but their numbers dwindled as the climate warmed up.

In the video games

In the video games, Manmoo has very high Attack and Hit Point ratings. Unfortunately, all its other ratings are simply slightly above-average at best.

Manmoo evolves from Piloswine when it knows the move Ancientpower, but only in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, despite the fact its pre-evolutions Swinub and Piloswine could learn Ancientpower in previous games by breeding, and automatically in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness when the Shadow Swinub is purified.
