Manitoba Great Northern Railway

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Manitoba Great Northern Railway was a railway that operated in the Canadian province of Manitoba. The railway was incorporated on March 10, 1909, to purchase the right-of-way and tracks of the Midland Railway of Manitoba between Gretna on the United States border and Portage la Prairie and between Morden and the US border.[1] The railway was eventually sold to Canadian National Railway. Today, the lines once operated by the Manitoba Great Northern make up the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Manitoba, a BNSF Railway subsidiary railroad.
