Mangarpal

Mangarpal (Hindi: मन्गर्पल, Urdu: منگرپل) is a Kashmiri tribe in the Kashmir region of India and Pakistan. It is also used as family name.

Mangarpals are a Chandravanshi Rajput clan descended from Raja Mangarpal son of Hani Dev. Hani Dev emigrated to present day Sialkot from Bikaner, located in the Jangladesh region in the Twelth century A.D. Hani Dev's brother Nirmal Dev continued to live in Bikanir.

Mangarpal was a skilled warrior and very young when his father died. The ambitious and adventurous Rajkumar set out towards Kashmir present day Kotli. He was so enamoured by the beautiful valley that he decided to settle in what is now known as Kotli Mangralan.
