[edit] Differences between MangaNEXT and Anime Conventions

Unlike anime conventions, MangaNEXT is centered around manga and doujinshi exclusively. Artist alley will play a larger role at the event. The manga library will be expanded. Panel programming will become a major focus. The dealers' room will concentrate on selling manga and doujinshi. Cosplayers will have a variety of events to participate in, but there will no masquerade competition. There will only be one video room, as opposed to the multiple video rooms at anime conventions.[4]

[edit] Manga Library

Universal Animation, Inc. introduced the manga library at AnimeNEXT 2002 which became a popular feature at the event. They have taken the library on the road to other anime conventions like Anime Boston, Anime Expo New York, New York Comic Con, and Otakon.[5] At MangaNEXT the library is an expanded reading room for all manga fans.[4]
