Mandra (Greek: Μάνδρα, meaning "yard"), also Mandhra is a town in the westcentral part of the prefecture of Attica in Greece, it is part of the Athens area. It is near the east coast of the Greek mainland. It has mild summers and fairly cold winters. Mandra’s population now is around 15,000 and it’s quite famous for their big industrial zone, since it's very close to the capital of Greece. Magoula is bypassed with the GR-3 (Athens - Thiva). Mandra is linked with the GR-8A/E94 (Athens - Corinth - Patras) and the old GR-8 as well as the Attiki Odos since February 2004 with its exit north. Its junction lies further south and was constructed in 2001 and opened in 2004. The area around Mandra has farmlands located near the boundary with Magoula, the mountains including Pateras lies to the west and more to the north. Mandra is located about 25 km northwest of Athens, about 5 km north of Elefsina, ENE of Corinth and southeast of SSE of Thiva.
