Mandonna
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mandonna is a U.S. all-male tribute band to Madonna, formed in 2003. They featured on Howard Stern, and in Maxim Magazine.
[edit] Overview
Mandonna was formed in 2003 after seeing several all-female tribute bands (such as Iron Maidens and AC/DShe) rock the house while covering traditionally male metal hits. Their name is a compound of man and donna, and their slogan is "The all-male tribute to the Material Girl!".
The band mostly plays Madonna's hits from the 1980s, like "Borderline", "Like a Virgin", and "Holiday". Along with the vocal differences, the band use traditional bass and guitars instead of Madonna's electronic instrumentation. Complete with elaborate costume changes and slutty dance moves, the band's show is a collection of Madonna's greatest hits.
