Mandi Gobindgarh is a city and a municipal council in Fatehgarh Sahib district in the Indian state of Punjab. It is also sometimes referred as Steel City (or Simply Loha Mandi) because of large number of steel mills and factories.

As of 2001 India census,GRIndia Gobindgarh had a population of 1,55,416. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Gobindgarh has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 72%, and female literacy is 67%. In Gobindgarh, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
