Mandapeshwar Caves
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Mandapeshwar Caves are Hindu caves devoted to Shiva, located in the suburb of Borivali in northern Mumbai (Bombay), India. They were buily approximately 1,500 years ago.
The caves have a rectangular opening interspersed with four pillars. The Portuguese converted the caves into a church, and ancient graves can be visible nearby.
Inside the caves are carved pillars and a large hall. There is a carved Shiva as Nataraja on one of its walls.
