Manangatang ( Victoria, Australia. It has a population of about 300 and is sometimes noted for its unusual name, from an Aboriginal term meaning "watering hole." The town's position places it at a junction linking Melbourne with the Murray River and Adelaide with the Snowy Mountains.

Manangatang is known locally for its horse racing spring carnival, one of the largest rural horse races in Victoria. The Managatang Football Club, an Australian rules football team, was made famous by a catchphrase of commentator Lou Richards; "They couldn't beat the Manangatang thirds".[1]
The town possesses the state's smallest public hospital and nursing home.
