Man of Steel Award
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Man of Steel Award is an award for the best rugby league player in the Super League competition.
Started in 1977, the Man of Steel Award annually honours the outstanding player in the British game. Voted on by members of the Rugby Football League press, the award has often bypassed the top try scorer, winning captain or great International player.[citation needed]
The award is club and country blind, winners include Australians and a New Zealander, and is often won by a player from a club that has no trophies in the cupboard.[specify]
