Man for Peace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The title Man for Peace was created in 1999, to recognise individuals who offered "an outstanding contribution to international social justice and peace". Its name is commonly misattributed as "Man of Peace".
An initiative by former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, himself a winner of a Nobel Peace Prize, the award is presented at an annual summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Rome, sponsored by the Gorbachev Foundation.
