"Mambo!" was Helena Paparizou fifth CD single and the first from her international album The Game of Love. There were two versions of the song; a Greek version and an English Version. The Greek version was released in November 2005 in Greece and was a major hit going straight to number one for ten weeks including Christmas number and leaving Helena with her most successful CD single to date. Her single continued to stay in the charts for an amazing 23 weeks. Her single was released as a CD single and Sony BMG also re-released Helena's debut album Protereotita for a third time with her single in under the name of Protereotita: Euro Edition + Mambo!.
In April 2006 it was announced that the English version of her song would be released across the globe in Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey and Spain by Helena's own record company Sony BMG. Other record companies will also release her song in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, Canada, South Africa, and Australia along with other countries. Moda Records will remix her song along with "My Number One" in the USA. The Scandinavian promotion of her song will be from Bonnier Music.

"Mambo!" has been released in a number of countries throughout Europe including; Austria, Belgium, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom. In some other countries in Europe it hasn't been released but it has entered radio airplay charts: Bulgaria, Estonia, Romania, Russia, Serbia and others.

"Mambo!" had been released in Sweden as Helena's fourth Swedish single. The single became a big hit there reaching number five (#5) in the Swedish Singles Chart and spending much of its time in the top 10 while charting for twenty five weeks. It has sold more than 25,000 copies and certified gold. "Mambo!" was also on Svensktoppen for 9 weeks. In various European countries, there are only radio airplay charts and "Mambo!" peaked on Estonia airplay chart at number one (#1). In Romania it peaked at number thirteen (#13) charting for thirty weeks. In Russia it reached number forty-one (#41) on their Top 100 Airplay Chart. In Poland "Mambo!" grew very popular and peaked on a lot of radio stations at number one. On the official Polish National Top 50 "Mambo!" peaked at number six (#6) for two weeks.
In the United Kingdom and Ireland "Mambo!" was planned to be released in September 2006 but was delayed. Promos were released to clubs in September and the video was shown on The Box. The official date of Mambo UK release became 13 November,[1] and it was released on iTunes UK on 6 November. It is peaked at number 16 on the Club Dance Charts in its first week,[2] but only reached number 185 on The Official UK Singles Chart. A remix of the song was included on the popular "dancemania" compilation CD. On The Box, it was in the top 10 for 7 weeks.
In Belgium where the single also became popular, it peaked at number eightteen (#18) and stayed in the charts for 4 months. The single became the 60th biggest selling single in Belgium in 2006 and the third best Eurovision song that year.

The original video for "Mambo!" was released in Greece in February 2006. These video is filmed in Greeklish. In the video Helena is showing of her dancing skills throughout the video. The video has an office theme for most of the video and Helena enters the office and makes everyone in the building dance and have a good time. At the end of the video Helena and dancers dance together in a routine. The video of Helena has been well received in Greece and won 'most played video' in the 2006 MAD TV Music Awards. Throughout the video there are clips of coca cola.
In Sweden, the original video was used but in this video it was all English. In this video there are no Coca Cola adverts whereas in the Greeklish video filmed for Greece there are.
In May, due to Helena starting her international career, "Mambo!" got a new video filmed to be aimed at a more global audience. It took only a day to film on a small island in Greece. On the island there is a bar is in the center of the video with lots of people parting and dancing to "Mambo!" Towards the end of the video Helena is seen dancing in a night scene. In early June, this version of "Mambo!" premiered in France. It has also aired many times in Poland and Romania.

There are rumours saying that Norty Cotto will remix Helena's song when Moda Records releases it in the United States, but these are yet unconfirmed. Furthermore, Raff and Jam have already finished Radio and Club remixes for "Mambo!".
The complilation called "Dance Mania", where the "Mambo" [Dancing Dj Mix] is included, was number one in the UK Charts.
