Hello

Hello to you too :), thanks for the kind words about the barnstars. What is up with you, have you been playing you Wii for 25 hours a day yet ;). ~ Arjun 22:44, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Well I am glad to see that you like it :). About the RFA I am not getting my hopes too high as there are many things that can happen, however I would have never imagined to see so much support at this point in time. I am humbled. Cheers! ~ Arjun 22:52, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

My RFA

Thank You,
Malcolm/Archive 6 for your Support!
Thank you for your support in my RfA, which closed at 111 / 1 / 2. I am humbled and rather shocked to see such kind comments and for it to reach WP:100. Please feel free to leave a note if I have made a mistake or if you need anything, I will start out slow and tackle the harder work once I get accustomed to the tools. Thank you once more, I simply cannot express in words my gratitude.

You've got a cool name, your userboxes show you're a cool person, and you stole an hour of my life by interesting me (through your userbox) to the Wikipediholic Test. This just comes to show that 42 truly is The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.

JackSparrow Ninja 01:12, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Llama man,
I'm glad you like it ^_^
Funny coincidence like that.
I've been wanting to make something like this for a while, but never really got to it, untill now that is. Show it with pride 8-)
Anyway, should you find it interesting, I've also made a userbox for it (I'm experimenting and learning a lot now; I've got userboxitis now =p)

Well done on passing your RfA with 94% support - that's a great achievement! You must be pleased at that result. A Bureaucrat will be along shortly to issue you with a shiny new set of admin tools. If you need any assistance in using them then please don't hesitate to ask and I'll do my best to answer. Good luck and happy mopping! (aeropagitica) 19:54, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

And here they are. Have fun with them and don't hesiate to ask questions. Re-read the policies as needed and be carful with the tools. As you get comfortable, dig in and help out with the backlogs. Congrats - Taxman Talk 20:03, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Congrats, I knew you could do it. If you have any questions feel free to ask me :). Cheers, now get cracking on those backlogs. And I hope to see you on #wikipedia-en-admins soon! ~ Arjun 20:07, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Being that you started out your life as a "vandal-only" account, I hope you AGF with new users and treat them the same way if they're vandalizing, by talking them out of their bad behaviour since you yourself had the same experiance. Remember also WP:BITE Jeff Defender 20:15, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Jeff, I'm not sure who you think you are fooling. You know far too much about WP policy, guidelines and even obscure essays to be a new user, yet the only actions with this new account of yours (other than vague recent followup excusemaking and the above complaint) have been actively disruptive. WP:AGF does not apply when there is no longer any room to A that GF because all evidence points in the opposite direction. See WP:UWT. Notice how the later warning templates in each series exlicitly assume bad faith based on evidence of a pattern? Going after new admins with a high horse is not going do anything at all to improve your reputation here. I'm sorry, but that's just a fact. Try actually creating (on notable topics) and improving existing articles, which is what Wikipedia user account are actually for.  :-) — SMcCandlish [talk] [contrib] 06:20, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Congrats Llama man. Iam sorry I didnt vote for you because I didnt know that you were contesting and anywayz I hope you would continue doing the Fine job you were doing up to now and yes keep those Vandals at bay..Yeah..Cheers--Cometstyles 20:49, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

An update on Wikipedia:WikiProject Abandoned Articles

The project has reached the quarter-way point for the work on the list of the oldest 1000 ("abandoned") articles in Wikipedia: 250 articles have been reviewed and updated!

The project now has 21 members. If you're no longer interested, please take your name off the list; you won't get any further messages like this one. On the other hand, if you're still interested, please consider signing up for a(nother) block of 10 articles to work on - if everyone did this, we'd be almost halfway through those 1000 articles!

Finally, please note that project approach has changed slightly - there is now a section for editors to place articles that need to be "adopted", or to adopt articles that need further work. This means that if you find an article in a block of ten that needs more work than you have time for, it has a place to be put.

{{deletedpage}}

I noticed on the Asian Doorag article you substed the {{deletedpage}} template. Just for future reference don't subst it just add the template. Cheers and p.s you are doing a great job so far :) ~ Arjun 23:13, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

No prob, happy mopping. Glad that we now have more teenage admins! Just to let you know, I am on #wikipedia-en-admins. Hope to see you there soon! :). ~ Arjun 23:19, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Wow congrats at being that age, you pwn mine since I am 14! Cheers! ~ Arjun 23:22, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay yeah I forgot about the invite. I am asking now about it. They are asking if you nick is registered. So I need to know that first. ~ Arjun 23:26, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Ah well thats the first problem. it needs to be registered. Go on #wikipedia and ask someone on how to do that. And then we will go from there. ~ Arjun 23:29, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
I would probably think that Llama is already registred. Are you sure you are registred. Stay on IRC okay, since I think that you have to to be invited. ~ Arjun 23:37, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Yep you are registred (I am pretty sure at least), I am trying to get you in contact with someone who can get you on. just sit tight :). ~ Arjun 23:42, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Ack; Thats okay, however unfortunate since access was just about to be given to you :(. But thats fine, tomorrow (or later) just go look at WP:IRC and look at the users that can grant permision for the admin channel. Then go on #wikipedia and contact one of them. Good luck, and once you get your first access then everything will be as easy as pie in the future. Cheers! ~ Arjun 23:54, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Though I'm not an admin (yet), I do create {{deletedpage}} articles that fail AFD or DRV and request protection. Why shouldn't you subst them if they keep them out of special:Shortpages? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BuickCenturyDriver (talkcontribs).

Congrats!

Congratulations on becoming an admin! Just a quick note though, you might want to change your message at the top of your page to the Rfa that passed and not the one that failed! RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 23:25, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Edit Count Userbox

Hey man. Quick question for you. Do you care if I change the edit counter link in the edit count userbox back to Interiot's Wannabe Kate tool? Interiot's tool gives a more detailed analysis.

You were the last person to change it, so I figured I'd run the question by you first. Here's your edit.

And congratulations on your successful RfA. =) – Lantoka (talk) 03:25, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

I would recommend Interiot's version, it is bug free (There were a few issues with Essjay's), and shows more data then Essjay's. It is slightly slower though. Prodego talk 03:29, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Sure, I don't really care much anyway. The main reason I changed it was that it was slower, but Interiot's seems much faster than it used to be now. –Llama man 03:40, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, I just realized that I technically said "Sure, I would care". So...change that to "not at all". –Llama man 04:04, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Alright, I went ahead and changed it. Thanks for the reply. =) – Lantoka (talk) 06:09, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Baron Ponsonby

Heja, I welcome the protection of the article above, but you would have been supposed to take the original version from April 2006 [1]. Note also that a discussion already exists at Talk:Baron_Ponsonby_of_Imokilly, in which however User:Christina Kaye ignores the result. Note finally that now the protected version includs a disambiguation link to Baron Ponsonby of Imokilly, which is again a redirect to Baron Ponsonby - the information about the title (see [2]) is lost. Greetings ~~ Phoe talk 19:42, 19 February 2007 (UTC) ~~

Thanks and additional congratulations to your adminship :-) ~~ Phoe talk 20:00, 19 February 2007 (UTC) ~~
  • Hi there, I just saw this. Phoe has been very disengenuous here. First of all I started the discussion at Talk:Baron Ponsonby, relating to some well-intentioned edits and the adding of a disambig page. Phoe and Proteus acting together reverted all my edits without comment or discussion. They did communicate with each other, and I later copied some of these exchanges to the Talk page, and so it looks as though they took part in the discussion earlier than they in fact did. They kept doing this, despite my asking them to discuss the question either on my user page or the article talk page. They only joined in the discussion proper after I requested a block be placed on the page - so it just cannot be the case that I have ignored the outcome of a discussion. I've tried to keep my cool throughout, despite Proteus calling my contributions "utterly ridiculous" and "pig-headed". I would be grateful if you could have a word with him about that. Lastly, please consider if this page needs a disambiguation page. 99.99% of wikipedia users will not understand the difference between "Baron Ponsonby, of Imokilly", "Baron Ponsonby of Shulbrede" and "Baron Ponsonby, of Sysonby", since history often refers to them all as just "Baron Ponsonby", and a disambig page might help with this. I have made this point on the talk page - the reason I've raised it with you is that as things stand two people are against a disamabig page (Phoe & Proteus) and two not against (me & Alci12). We could do with someone outside the argument to suggest what is best for wikipedia. Thanks Christina Kaye 12:30, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Automatic edit summaries

The automatic edit summaries specifically use the redirect because it uses fewer characters, thus allowing for a longer content message. It was one of the conditions why the WP:AES message and link would be acceptable at all. —Centrxtalk • 02:34, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

User talk:DavyJonesGSB

Hey, there. :) Looks like you recently got adminship, congrats. Just wanted to run this block by you, real quick -- in his current unblock request at User talk:DavyJonesGSB, he says the account got compromised by his little brother, and is requesting unblocking. Usually those stories are pretty iffy, but in this case it looks like the account has a number of good edits under his belt, going back to late November 2006. By all means, that was a reasonable block; since the account seems to be back under control, and the story seems to check out, I'm inclined to unblock, based on what I can see. Did you have any objection or comment, or is there anything else I'm missing? – Luna Santin (talk) 02:18, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Sure, you're welcome to pull anything out of my userspace, if you like. Although you'll get to grapple with fun questions like "why did he make a 'templates' directory if there's only one template in it?" :p – Luna Santin (talk) 03:08, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Congratulations on your successful RfA, too! It's great to see you already mopping away. I'm sorry about dilly-dallying on your RfA, but I'm glad I supported eventually - you're doing a fine job. All the best, – riana_dzasta 07:47, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
