[edit] Plot
[edit] Part 1
Generica is a world at the distant corner of the galaxy where unfortunate people end up rather than visit. But it is here that our main character Malone finds himself, trying to hide from his secret past. So Malone finds a place to stay, a horrible little room where later at night he has a nightmare with a clown. Elsewhere he gets himself a job for Waldo at a bar. Later has an encounter with some thugs who think he looks made but Malone plays it cool and leaves to return to his apartment where he has his nightmare. After the nightmare he hears some thudding from somewhere and finds a young girl chained in the elevator that has been shut down for two days.
[edit] Part 2
Malone pulls the girl from the lift, telling her his name. She doesn't say thanks but does tell him that she is a singer who by stage name is known as Missy Solemnis. Being down a lift for two days, Malone takes her to his room where he gives her something to eat. She asks Malone where he's from to which he replies "far away". Missy says that's where she wants to go. The next day Malone is working his first day at Suckers with Waldo where he is thinking about Missy, sure that she reminds him of someone. Over the next couple of weeks, Malone takes Missy to dinner and the cinema. Yet another night, he has the nightmare with the clown again who still asks him, "Who the freak do you think you are?" Another day at Suckers and Missy tells Malone about a man named Serge who offered to be her manager, but Missy refused because she doesn't want to go down "that" route. Missy also asks if he's "out to make". Malone doesn't understand so she asks what his dreams are about. He tells her about the clown when a fight breaks out, in which Waldo is attacked. He cries for Malone to help but Malone can't do a thing.
[edit] Part 3
Malone continues to do nothing but then notices Missy draw a gun before getting hit on the head with a bottle, and takes them all on! He comes out victorious and later at his apartment takes the revolver from Missy, asking why she even had it. She tells him for protection and says she wants to hire him. Malone isn't for hire though and lets her go but thinks about her question, the one concerning where he learned to fight like he did in the bar. Later, yet again, he has another dream of the clown where it tells him to tell Missy the truth. Malone still doesn't know what it's talking about and wakes up after it says "Who the freak do you think you are?" again. It's the door that wakes him and finds the thugs who think he's made standing there, waiting for him. They let themselves in and one draws a revolver saying that they need to have a conversation.
[edit] Part 4
The thugs take Malone across town to a diner where he is introduced to Serge who wants Malone to clear a small matter of his. The matter of course is Malone being out to "make". Malone insists that he is nothing so one of the thugs shows Serge the gun. Malone says that he only took it off the girl so she wouldn't hurt herself. Serge tells him how it will work out. If Malone admits to being out to make then Serge will offer him some business and they'll be on the same side. If he doesn't then he'll take it that a rival sent him and lean on him, but not before someone else, probablly Missy. Serge orders his thugs to walk him home. On the way Malone tells them about the clown he keeps dreaming about. They let him go but attack him straight after, leaving him to die on the street. The clown appears: "You just gonna take that lying down, sock cutter? Oh yeah, that's it. Die on me..."
[edit] Part 5
Missy has brought the dead Malone back to his apartment and placed him on his bed. Panicking, she searches for something that will let her know more about him. She can't find a thing and returns to the bedroom but Malone has disappeared. Malone has arrived at a pool club where he finds Serge. Serge and his two thugs notice that his voice sounds different and point it out to him. Malone tells Serge that he has came up with an answer to his proposition and draws a revolver. The bald thug also draws a gun but Malone shoots him instantly for swearing. He shoots the other one in the head as Serge makes a run for it. Malone follows him telling him that they there's no point running and calls him a "melon farmer". His shadow on the wall is a clown.
[edit] Part 6
Malone catches up with Serge in no time and shoots him in the knee. Serge, now in agony, asks him who he is and who sent and even offers him a deal to be kept alive. Malone kills him saying "Deal with this". Back at his apartment he tells Missy that they're going far away just like she said she wanted to. Missy isn't too sure and again asks him who he is. Malone asks why everybody keeps saying that and says "I'm Malone! I'm Malone! I'm alone." Malone doesn't know who he is and asks for a cigarette but Missy reminds him that he doesn't smoke.
Suddenly there's a knock at the door and Malone pushes Missy out of sight. It's Rocky Rhodes from Sinister Dexter. "Only me buddy. You sure are a hard man to track down."
[edit] Part 7
Malone says that he recognizes Rocky as the man with no legs from his dreams. Rocky introduces himself and tells Malone that they used to be friends in Downlode City from Sinister Dexter. Malone asks him if he knows who he is and Rocky tells him he does but warns him that it'll hurt due to all the stuff going on inside Malone's head. Malone's real name is Finigan Sinister, one of the two main characters in Sinister Dexter. Suddenly Malone collapses as if he's been punched by an invisible person. Inside his head the clown asks him who the "freak" he thinks he is as Sinister tells him that he trapped him in his head. At a restaurant Rocky explains that he took Billi out of Downlode and Malone remebers her getting shot and asks if she lived. Rocky tells him that she did and has been moving from world to world. But Malone (or Sinister) took a mind job so he couldn't remember a thing about his past hence the reason, he couldn't tell anyone his name and came up with Malone. Rocky tells him that he's been busy searching for him and tells Malone that it's been twelve months since he left Downlode. Malone says that he needs to go back and asks Missy if she'll join him. Missy says she'll take her chances at Generica because Malone frightens her. Rocky and Malone leave and Malone asks what happened to Ray Dexter, the other lead character in the tie in series. Rocky's about to tell him when Malone says he understands. He's alone.

[edit] The author
In the final part Malone is revealed to be a tie in strip to Sinister Dexter and may be written by Dan Abnett, the creator of the series, himself! The only place Cal Hamilton's name cropped up was writing for James Bond Jr. series, the man who took over later was Dan Abnett so the names were already linked.
The connection has been confirmed on Dan Abnett's blog where he says he used it on Malone so it was not immediately obvious that it tied into Sinister Dexter. [1]
