Malik Fathi

Malik Fathi (born October 29, 1983 in Berlin) is a German football player. His father is Turkish and his mother is German.
Since 2001 he has played as a defender for Hertha BSC Berlin. Before beginning his football career he played tennis for Hertha Zehlendorf Berlin and for Borussia Berlin. He also plays basketball in his spare time.
He represented Germany Under-20 team at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, Germany Under-21 team at European under-21 championship 2006 and earned his first cap for the German national team on August 16, 2006 in a friendly against Sweden.
