Susuga Malietoa Tanumafili I was the Malietoa in Samoa 1898-1939.He was born in 1879 as the son and second child of Malietoa Laupepa and Sisavai'i Malupo Niuva'ai . He became the Malietoa when his father died in 1898.He married Momoe Lupeuluiva Meleisea ,with whom he had four children,amongst them his successor Malietoa Tanumafili II .He died in 1939.
