[edit] Who are the Malebranche?
The Malebranche are responsible for ensuring that the extortionists and blackmailers on Bolgia 5, Bolgia being the names for the ditches in Malebranche, stay in the "Pitch". The "Pitch" is a river of boiling tar, and if anyone pops up or tries to escape, the Malebranche are responsible for sticking them back in or ripping them to pieces.
