Malaya Mountains

Malaya Mountains was a range of mountains that were mentioned in the epic Mahabharata and Ramayana. These mountains formed the southern part of the Western Ghats, where as its northern part (starting from Palghat) was called Sahya Mountains. The peaks of Malaya mountains were higher than that of Sahya. Anamalai, Palani and Nilagiri formed its parts. It was the western boundary of the Pandya Kingdom. Pandya king was known as Malayadwaja as per the epic Mahabharata.
